Clay & Fiber Coiled Basket Workshop
with teacher Cammie Johnson
For ages 10 - 14 • 3-day workshop • All materials included
Looking for a creative way to keep your child engaged, focused, and proud of what they’ve made? This three-day workshop combines pottery, color theory, and fiber art into one fun and meaningful project.
Students will start by creating and decorating a wood base to create the sturdy base of their basket. They’ll then learn to transform an old t-shirt into soft yarn (yes, upcycling!) and use it to wrap and stitch cotton rope into a beautiful, functional coiled basket.
This project encourages patience, attention to detail, and thoughtful design. Along the way, kids will learn the basics of color theory to help them choose a harmonious color palette that ties the whole piece together—literally.
A perfect mix of hands-on crafting and artistic expression, this class is simple, fun, and builds confidence from start to finish.
