Summer Studio Series Artist Workshops

Summer Studio Series: Artist Workshops

Calling all artists, makers, and creative educators—this summer, the studio is yours.

Studio at Fort Wayne Clay is launching the Summer Studio Series, a three-week celebration of creativity, process, and hands-on making for students from Pre-K through 12th grade. These are not your average art classes—and they’re definitely not crafts.

Each day, young artists will explore the creative process through artist-led workshops designed to help them think, plan, and make like real working artists. Whether they’re shaping clay, layering paint, building sculpture, printing, weaving, or drawing—students will dive into big ideas, new materials, and bold expressions.

We’re currently building a lineup of guest artists and teaching creatives from across disciplines to lead workshops that are joyful, skillful, and full of intention. This is not just for potters—this is for any artist who wants to share their medium with young makers and help them build confidence in their creative voice.

We’re planning something special for young artists this summer—and we’d love your input. Before we finalize our Summer Studio Series schedule, we're asking parents to share what they'd like to see: ideal age groups, mediums, session length, and more.
It only takes 2–3 minutes and helps us shape a summer art experience that really works for your family.

Artists & Art Educators—Want to Teach?

We're looking for artists in all mediums to lead workshops for different age groups. You bring your expertise and your spark—we’ll handle the logistics, promotion, and support.

You can teach one day, a few, or even lead a short multi-day camp. Sessions will run through July, and we’ll wrap the experience with a public Student Art Show to celebrate the work created.

Help Us Spread the Word

Know someone who would be perfect for this? Please share this with local artists, art teachers, and creatives who love working with kids and teens. It’s a paid opportunity, it’s community-driven, and it’s going to be a highlight of the summer.

How to Apply

Interested in teaching? Just fill out the short proposal form by Monday, May 5th and tell us about your project idea, preferred age group, materials needed, and your availability in July.
